nope, frustrated as ever, i have an old machine (HP XW6000 workstation, ubuntu reads 4Cpus yet i suspect its two, graphics card is ish ish (had to login to safe graphics mode), sound is fine, resolution stuck at the default and still on tvtime i see video on video source= television, and hear audio on video source= composite1, composite2 and svideo... dmesg prints out soo much gibberish im even scared of pasting it here. Hi Brian,
Just out of curiosity, what channels (in Kenya) do you currently get to watch with a DVB card ? And which areas are covered in and around Nairobi ?

Ndungi The card is correct, so are the drivers. The next step after having the drivers installed is to scan the channels. This is where *w_scan* comes in, or what I have been trying to use. It is meant to create a channel-list.conf that I am supposed to use with vlc, all I get is 0 services. Kaffeine comes with its own scan ap but doesn't seem to be working for me. I have tried from different locations within Nairobi, so I really don't think its signal issue, plus besides it works well on windoze. Anybody with experience in this. I would like to know where I am going wrong as I have followed so many threads from Google University. Thank you in advance.
Kind regards,
