
But didn't I hear Dr. Ndemo on radio say that if one has a fake handset, they need to retrn it to the point of purchase for a refund provided they have a receipt for the purchase of the gadget and the importer/seller, bought it using the laid down strategies before dispatching it to the final consumer. As the deadline for switching off the so called fake phones approaches , i feel for the ordinary folks affected .India has worked this path before in Nov 2009 , when faced with the similar predicament they set up centres for the 20million affected subscribers to implant genuine IMEI to the handsets @ a small fee , If only we can do that in Kenya , then our regulator up their game ,We can save ordinary Kenyans the agony of buying new handsets.
