I've just re-read the Safaricom Innovation Board initiative and I thank Al Kags for raising it on this list.
I believe that skunkworks KE should have a representative on the board as it can be a channel for views and solutions from all innnovators on this community list. Therefore I'd suggest Phares Kariuki as a prime nominee, incase if he is willing to.
Should Phares agree, we should jointly support and nominate him.
What say you Phares?

My thoughts are a bit different on Aki's ( which are acceptable). But instead of 'self-imposing' someone, why don't we ask those who are interested, within Skunkworks, to submit there names online and we see how that one can go. The potential nominees, IMHO, need to showcase, what they have to make them a likely nominee. This can include a portfolio of their works. An online election can then be done. And whoever has most of the votes, becomes the winner. Safaricom will be left to select whom they deem fit for the Board. If accepted, we can have a time limit for presenting names, (say three days), then two days for 'e-campaigning' and a day for 'e-election', hours for counting the votes (which should have some real-time results back-to-back). At the end of this, Skunkworks KE, through someone we've agreed can nominate our winner to serve on $afcom's Innovation Board. After which we just cross our fingers wait for the results from Safaricom and maybe have an e-tost, to our choice of nominee! My 20 cents!
