Please take the advice.
Professionals would rather sell you the correct thing then what you think you need.
I am sure the person that asked the question is wiser and will adopt their setup and procurement based on the best practice shared.

I have been in a situation where the media organization I worked with remained on air despite power failing (main line feeding our section of Nairobi went down for several days), the generator ran until it got an engine knock, invertor batteries then ran dry and the ups was our last line of defense before power was restored. It does not hurt to have all those redundancies in place.

Alex

Subject: Re: [Skunkworks] UPS search
If i asked my IT guy to give me a UPS proposal for a 1 hr backup for 4pcs and he tells me of a generator....
Inverter have come a long way, they maintenance cost and the ease of deployment is also a must. Howerver, note you still need the UPSs to clean the power.
Mains--->Inverter-->UPS-->PC
We have quite efficient generators which dont consume lots of fuel.
Alternative one will be self-contained Solar power system in place.
Greenline Technology Limited -ICT Solutions
A small super-quiet-generator will do. Honda or an alternative model.
Skunks,
Need a UPS that can support about 5 desktops for about an hour. Any leads?
