I looked at 6,500 tweets and found more than 55 different ways in
which kenyans interact with the Twitter. Some of the results, which
follow below, were rather surprising. I used the Twittter API to
monitor public feeds from Kenyan locality over a 24hr period. The
tweets were cumulatively collected for 24hr period using Trendy
Desktop.
THE RESULTS WERE AS FOLLOWS
1. twitter - 59% ... 33% are from m.twitter.com
2. snaptu - 15%
3. dabr - 7%
4. apiwiki - 7%
5. ubertwitter - 3%
6. hootsuite - 3%
7. twitpic - 2%
8. mobileways - 1%
others were identi, mobileways, facebook
it would appear that majority of the users access twitter via their
mobile phones...directly through the web and others through apps.
Most of this data will be accesible via the next release of Trendy
Desktop likely coming out next week...
