Hi @Joram, you've said it! And pls don't ask me why kenyans are not doing this below :

An immediate thing that come to mind is that those who are offering  domain and mail hosted services in kenya are behind thus website design seems like some big thing, while to a certain level it is not. For those who are providing hosted services using CPanel, please look at Fantastico which will create more revenue for you than you imagined. Fantastico offers web templates that your clients can use to setup immediate sites.

I've been down this road, free domains with yearly webhosting and mail is very feasible and loosely profitable. To complete my study, I even went to kenic last year with all sorts of dns and domain questions and dear Victor , though a busy professional, was a very big help.

In short, I was going to go with free domains and yealry hosting plans, 2 servers, 1 dns server and CPanel with fantastico. For me challenges have gone higher, given the pace that is taking place.

We are not adapting too fast.

Sorry for me asking, Shida ni nini?

Rgds.

My statement wasnt exactly literal, more like a wake up call for Web developers in kenya to move to the next level and display value beyond the "free " tools coming up online that offer high end functionality for sites which could replace the "average" kenyan web developer
