BBIT is designed to equip the business student with core IT skills that are necessary for the market, this also eliminates the need for the employer to train the employees on IT skills as well as an added advantage of having employees who are well versed in both worlds (IT and Business).

I would go for Bsc Computer science if i want to be an IT nerd only, but for those who are also business minded and want to also be relevant in the IT world, BBIT is for you. Personally I would opt for BBIT then later add a proffesional IT course in the field I'd prefer, that way you have an added advantage. My first degree was Bsc Maths and computer science and although we were versed more on statistics, I was able to stand on IT after campus and also work in statistics...i have the best of both worlds and the market today needs someone who can give a hand in other areas if need be and do a good job at it. you also have a larger employment field.

however, as someone rightly stated, it really depends on the skills you gain and how you are able to cut a niche market for yourself....Jenga Karume made it after all.

At the end of the day, none of the above really matter. You can do Home Science and be a House-Band if you like. Follow your passion, work hard at it and make a living out of it. That's all that counts!
