ACX Series Universal Access
Routers? |
|
The ACX Series simplifies access and aggregation architectures by
eliminating unnecessary
layers and network overlays, dramatically reducing CapEx and OpEx. Based on architectural
simplification and cost reduction, service providers and enterprises can adopt the true
universal access paradigm enabled by the ACX Series.
ACX Series routers are optimized for converging mobile, business, and residential access
services on a single platform.
They are Juniper’s response to a shift in metro network architecture where the access and
aggregation layer is extending the operational intelligence from the service provider edge
to the access network. |

ACX500
Superior small-cell mobile backhaul router for indoors or outdoors
ACX500 fanless mobile backhaul routers, certified for indoor and outdoor use in
utilities and railways, deliver up to 6 Gbps throughput and support an integrated, software-enabled GPS receiver. With a raft of targeted security and management capabilities, the ACX500 is ideally suited for small-cell
applications.
|
Overview
A 1 U fanless mobile backhaul router, the ACX500 comes with integrated GPS support and delivers 6
Gbps of throughput via fixed configuration Ethernet interfaces. Three compact form factors are available to meet your specific mobile backhaul needs:
- ACX500 for indoor deployment
- ACX500-O and ACX500-O-PoE for outdoor deployment
The temperature-hardened ACX500 indoor model provides four copper 10/100/1000 Mbps ports and two
fiber 1 Gbps ports, while the environmentally hardened ACX500-O and ACX500-O-PoE outdoor models provide three copper ports and three fiber ports. Both the ACX500 and the ACX500-O-PoE support Class 3 Power over Ethernet (PoE), with a power budget of
80W.
All models are fanless and support AC or DC power
sources, so you can easily deploy them in Telco environments where rack space and cooling are limited.

ACX5000
High-density, high-capacity aggregation router for Carrier Ethernet
ACX5000 routers give you the power to roll out cost-effective Metro Ethernet
access and aggregation solutions for areas where evolving service needs are driving the adoption of 10GbE UNIs in access and mobile backhaul networks. These routers provide E-LINE, E-LAN, E-TREE and E-ACCESS, with robust support for IP and IP VPN
services.
|
Overview
ACX5000 routers are ideal for Metro Ethernet access and aggregation deployments in Carrier
Ethernet networks. Their innovative design helps service providers build high-density, high-performance infrastructures where rack space and cooling are limited.
Built to handle 1GbE/10GbE capacity and density, ACX5000 routers feature 40GbE interfaces for NNI
uplinks and full support of E-LINE, E-LAN, E-TREE and E-ACCESS, as well as IP/IP VPN services. These routers support your business with high-availability networking features such as ISSU, Virtual Chassis and MC-LAG.
ACX5000 routers also offer service virtualization on a dedicated and customizable KVM-compliant
virtual machine that can execute operational scripts and programs for network performance monitoring and analysis.
With the ACX5000, you can build high-density Telco
infrastructures that are both efficient and scalable. To meet the needs of sites with limitations on rack space or cooling, we offer two form factors for easy deployment:
- 1 U platform, 48 10GbE ports and 6 40GbE ports
- 2 U platform, 96 10GbE ports and 8 40GbE ports

The ACX5000 satisfies the growing demand for access network capacity that springs from a new generation of xDSL/GPON and 4G/5G Base
Stations for 10GbE interfaces, as well as residential and enterprise customers who need 10GbE UNI services. The 40 Gbps NNI ports provide ample capacity for aggregation uplinks which, in combination with software capabilities designed for Carrier
Ethernet, makes the ACX5000 an optimal solution for Metro Ethernet access and aggregation.
Using the Junos OS and SDK, the ACX5000 is fully customizable to meet your specific needs, while its scalability and reliability improve your customers’ experience and lower your costs for maintaining and updating your network
infrastructure. |
