Summary:

A leading freight company in Kenya is looking for a bright system support and developer who can independently, and without supervision, convert ideas and requirements into solutions. You must have good communication and interpersonal skills.

Description:

The job will include:

• Reporting to the IT Manager
• Providing IT Support for the company staff.
• Design state-of-the-art software solutions based on requirements from customers, functional consultants and management.
• Programming and testing of software solutions on various database and programming platforms.
• Assist in preparing project plans and schedules for each job and assignment.
• Ensure that all solutions provided while developing a solution are properly documented.
• Assist in informing management about latest developments within ICT and advise on potential business development related to new and existing products as well as implementing those ideas.

Requirements:

• At least Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent
• Extra Certification will be an advantage
• Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• At least 2 years experience as programmer/system developer/Support in a relatively busy environment
• Good knowledge of systems support and development on at least one web language and another desktop language.
• Experience with Delphi/VB and PHP application development
• Must be able to quickly adapt to any programming language.
• Good solid knowledge of main components of systems in an office e.g. Servers, Desktops, PABX and Local Area Networks
• Knowledge in support of ERP solutions will be an added advantage.
