Hi guys,<br><br>I need your help here,<br><br>I have a domain managed by a windows 2003 server, the clients are running XP SP2, I keep getting an error, <b><i>&quot;Generic host for win32 services encountered an error and needs to close&quot;</i></b> on clicking don&#39;t send the computer will hang, and only a restart will render it usable again.<br>
<br>I have dug up Google and it appears that the error is update related, <br><br>My main problem is that all the options under automatic updates on the client computers are grayed out, Tweaking the registry and Group policy did not work according to an article on the internet, This might suggest that the reason these options are grayed out has something to do with the domain controller.<br>
<br><b>Q: How can i configure / disable automatic updates for client workstations from the domain controller.<br></b><br><b><u>Useful Information</u></b> <br><ul><li>I am running KIS ver6.0 on all workstations with current updates and no viruses have been detected.</li>
<li>The Domain controller is running Symantec AV. With this weeks update</li><li>When i remove a workstation from the domain the options under automatic updates are enabled and usable.</li><li>I have installed a patch from Microsoft that is supposed to fix this but it hasn&#39;t probably because you need to disable automatic updates too. - Which i haven&#39;t managed. </li>
