I don&#39;t think Safaricom intends to make *any* money on the 5-bob tokens, infact they probably project a loss. So why would they do it?<br><br>It&#39;s all about strategy. Safcom, as the biggest telco in Kenya, has been feeling the heat around high communication charges and they probably know/think CCK will do something soon. So what better way to forestall regulation than by saying that they&#39;re adequately catering to their poorest customers? Exhibit A in their defense? The 5-bob airtime card.<br>
