DVB-T transmission allows a broadcaster who has taken up a channel to partition that channel into a high-priority (HP) and low-priority (LP) broadcast. The HP would usually carry normal standard density (SD) broadcast - generally MPEG-2 whille the LP would carry high-density (HD) - generally MPEG-4 broadcast. It is purely up to the broadcaster to decide what kind of target market and programming they want to send out, then dimension their channel accordingly.

Obviously an interesting element is the opportunity to incorporate an interactive aspect into the programming to allow for Video-on-demand or pay-per-view type of programming.

The platform is here - let's see how innovative our broadcasters are going to be in terms of delivering a variety of programming that engages and excites the market.

Content is king, and DSTv has content that the free to air Digital or Analogue TV do not have. So DSTv will be around for a very time. It is very difficult to dethrone an emperor. Just ask GTV. I have just noticed the only content the local channels seem to have are those Mexican/South American soap operas which all end the same way.
