You should turn on legacy firmware  mode (or something like that depending on your computer). That way your ubuntu will install. I did that on HP Envy and it worked.

Have you turned off secure boot?  Changed the boot order to force system to check USB first?

Try those and see if it help. Oh, it help too if you can be more precise on how you are going about it and when all is falling apart.
