Bear in mind, Star Treks warp drive does not actually reach the speed of light. It warps space. Warp drive technology creates an artificial "bubble" of normal space-time that surrounds the spacecraft as it travels through "abnormal" or warped space.

And agreed, that technology is a bit far off :)

He he he - the reason I put the fictional aspect is because the concept of the warp drive is not conceived a reality any time soon.

Also Einstein's theory; as you approach the speed of light .... This limit is still a reality we have to beat.
