This is a classic example of the messy procurement system within government circles. That they (KenyaWeb) still have business from our taxes with such sloppy service (their website is hosted offshore btw) is beyond my faculties. The typical reaction(in Kenya) is to fix the symptom (outsource the service abroad). We see this with roads (the Chinese) and technology (the Chinese and the Americans). This adds fuel to the fire because it: A) rewards incompetent firms B) punishes competent firms C) Kills local industries when the bid is fully outsourced. Why can't we simply blacklist corporations and their directors? That way people won't be soo quick to join a corporation full of people with questionable ethics... The phenomenon is worse with roads because we have reached a point where the Chinese contractor does not care. People have died, many people as Thika Road is being constructed. -- Regards, Phares Kaboro Kariuki -----Original Message----- From: Brian Munyao Longwe <blongwe@gmail.com> Sender: skunkworks-bounces@lists.my.co.ke Date: Tue, 7 Feb 2012 19:12:21 To: Skunkworks Forum<skunkworks@lists.my.co.ke> Reply-To: Skunkworks Mailing List <skunkworks@lists.my.co.ke> Subject: [Skunkworks] Sloppy DNS system administration _______________________________________________ Skunkworks mailing list Skunkworks@lists.my.co.ke ------------ List info, subscribe/unsubscribe http://orion.my.co.ke/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/skunkworks ------------ Skunkworks Rules http://my.co.ke/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=94 ------------ Other services @ http://my.co.ke
