Collins, if u are using the EvDo card the pppoe-setup shell script should work well for u;

The Orange modem does something called mode-switching (USB Mode
switching) because it is a switchable USB device. The modem operates
like a flip-flop thus need for a software tool to do the switching
(wvdial does not do this).
