Maybe the 35 million is spent on the technology driving the site, not just the site itself, e.g. lots of kick ass (can i say that?) servers, maybe content replication on akamai, super fast links to the core etc And maybe, like someone mentioned earlier, there could be other business activities related to the website e.g. marketing, BPR etc. Maybe the figure is just quoted for marketing purposes?
