I do agree with the insertion factor, means suddenly the whole of the country will be open to all the channels that are available in the "city". -> FYI, talking of the fiber, huku iko kwa wingi.
@Brian, As for coverage, there's a plan to roll out 40 additional
transmitter sites, the particulars and tendering process for this is
ongoing however it's envisaged that before the end of the year all
these sites will be live am sure Malindi will be in there.
The major determining factor is availability of connectivity Fiber or
Microwave and protection for the same ... For locations without proper
access KBC plans to go via satellite. What I admire most about the
expansion plan is what the are calling local insertion. This is where
you can have a station specific to an area say Mombasa (Baraka FM) ,
but will have the same countrywide coverage enjoyed by KBC or Citizen,
nationwide coverage as a competitive advantage will be no more.
