Run the command xvinfo to see if your card is detected. If it returns nothing, restart then at grub, use e to edit grub, e to edit the kernel... Line(2nd line). Add 'nomodeset' at the end, as one word and hit enter to boot. After booting, use the xvinfo command to check for detection of your card again.
