Hi skunkers,
is there a way you can block facebook in a domain?i need to block it within a school environment. im running on server 2008 enterprise but with only one network card. my domain is a child domain to another network but i wouldnt want the rest of the network to block facebook, just my domain. there exists a proxy server within the school environment,of which i dont have access to. is there a way i can do accomplish this Herculean task using an open source solution?

The task is not herculean. You said you are running Win2k8 Ent, but what does it have to do with other computers accessing the Internet?? You did not say anything more than there being a feeling in you to block FaceBook. Actually, why block it? Does it affect students' performance in any way?

Please note that whenever you want to implement something like this, you need in place an IT Policy to the same effect. Once the policy is in place, those who have "ownership" of the policy will facilitate the implementation.
