Maybe this will help you as well ... am also based out of the country and the work around for this is I roam with my safcom line and only use it for MPESA (Works very well for my case) I use Mobile banking or just NIC Account to MPESA (Online banking ) Then I can send money from my MPESA to what ever number. Have done this now for 3 years and it has worked for me all the time. Alternately just send the money straight to his MPESA account, this is if you have an NIC account you do this online. I do not know about other banks but maybe they do have, I have used CFC as well but NIC serves me just OK ... The countries I have used this method was in Africa, but with online banking I can send to any safcom line while stationed anywhere in the world. I was working on a project linked to them. They use an anti-fraud system to verify that you are who you claim to be based on your address, credit reports, phone, DOB etc. So if you put a fake address it wont go through.

Just got a confirmation that my transaction was declined - seems to be the fake address :-) Good job for my bank but more bad news from me - although fake addresses works everywhere else :-(

@Kris - seems like this is only accepting UK addresses and telephone numbers - and there is some notification SMS's which may also be some verifications. Looks very good though am abit skeptical on putting fake phone numbers & residential address when actual money is involved.

@Thomas - Unfortunately where am mostly working, Safaricom have no roaming agreements (Safaricom is basically nonexistent in Les Pays Francophone). Surprisingly, Airtel has, but every country has its own standalone Airtel Money with no integration to other countries at all.
@Steve - I do not know if it may be necessary, since if then I will have to open an SME account with my bank and they just started straight2bank for Mpesa payments. if no solution exists for individuals like me then I may not invest in it :-)
