And wat is the issue with your visual studio coz all the responses given here sound like we are groping in the dark..

On your registry sometimes some keys are left behind my need google how to clean up your registry for  a visual studio reinstallation.
On windows you can use something for like revo uninstaller to uninstall stuff to clean up stuff in the registry.
Also it will crush if you dont do a full install.

I have been trying to install Visual Studio 2008 Professional on my machine but it keeps failing from time to time. I had installed Visual Studio 2008 Team Sysytem. Is there a way i can install Visual Studio Professional 2008 without formatting my machine.
