Another way to calculate your costs is to come up with what you feel is your equivalent monthly salary. 1. divide this by the number of hours you would work in a month (remember that you do not work the whole day, you sleep, commute etc, deduct this to end up with an 8 - 12 hour day) 2. Then estimate the number of hours it took you to do the website - remember there were hours communicating, hours thinking 3. Then also add other costs such as travelling, calls On Wednesday, 11 June 2014, George Irungu <g.irungu@logicalcrest.co.ke> wrote:

There is only one determinant of how much you can charge. Real strength of the client. Costs of doing a website dont have much variance, all that "quality", "man hours" "complexity", "functionality", "CMS" etc are marketing speak to wring more cash from the client.

Greetings Matt.
It depends on the functionality of the website. My friends who are in the web development field charge normally around K.Sh. 35,000 and above for a standard website . Have you come up with your own quotation format ? Feel free to use * mine.* <https://copy.com/OxsFOfmP14F9>

Hi skunks,
A client contacted for a simple one-page website and I came up with this skeleton site. <http://daiga-tech.herokuapp.com/> The client is okay with it and has requested I send them a quote for the site.
Could you guide me on how much to charge for such work.
This is my first sidejob and I don't want to undervalue or overvalue my work. The whole site both frontend and backend and plus site hosting (the whole stack) I have done my self.
Regards and thanks,
