The disappointing thing for me was that it turned out to be a Microsoft tools / .NET forum, and not a general developers forum, as I'd understood it to be. I learnt, too late, that it was actually an expanded AfricaDotNet meeting. The speakers, so-called Microsoft MVPs :), were patronising, and in my opinion, very ignorant.

Let me just say that I won't be wasting my time in future!

Web apps = server side apps = best developed by communities / companies. Yah? Gifted Solo Movers (= Micro ISV's) can focus on desktop or mobile apps but will Web app (stores) not generate more sales for their mobile or desktop apps?
