No I believe this is not for subscription messages. This is for Bulk SMS. The ones with the ALPHANUMERIC sender ID e.g KPLC, MPESA etc. There are some market guys who would just send blast or spam messages to everyone and the user would have no way of stopping or replying to the sender Id since there is no number for one to say stop. Hence the addition of the word STOP and a number where to send, at the end of the messages. For subscription messaging the user can send STOP to that subscription number or dial *100# and then opt out of the subscription but for the BULK messaging the user had no way to opt out till now.
