Whoever was shocked at Bob's hint is being emotional rather than logical. The telecoms industry in Kenya is 99% imports, from the biggest equipment to the smallest, even a SIM card is imported. So if the the dollar wobbles, the network operators feel the effect in a very profound way. If everyone out there, even maize hawkers, are blaming the dollar for their upward price shifts, how is it that telcos are expected to remain with flat prices (or even lower them some more). It's simply not possible, prices have to go up at some point.
