Interesting, mine keeps being automatically extended. I get a message saying my service has been extended to xxxx - third time now. Are you sure they actually disconnect people?

I don't know how it works but when you go to your WhatsApp settings->account->payment info, it will show you your service expiry date. I know a number of people who's WhatsApp access have expired and don't have access. You can always renew for $.99  a year.
