Ok.<br>Just post the tail /var/log/messages or syslog...that should help troubleshoot the issue...It was just last week I used the 9.04 live CD and had to do a apt-get to install a package...i used a modem for that and had no issues at all....<br>

I have worked with the modem on an ubuntu installed machine without issues and yes it detects the modem automatically however,<br>
My problem is dialing up the modem on a live cd.<br>
