I was particularly motivated by the fact that I needed a "workstation" grade software on the laptop and Ubuntu 10.10 seemed a great choice, and yes it is! At least I have a change from the Microsloth boredom, and can as well make my workstation a "server" any moment I think, without any extra cost. A Mac?? Not really.
