I personally think it's a huge step forward for Kenya. Finally Hollywood portrays Kenya as a modern African city, not just lions and Maasai's, poverty and war. From now on if a movie director thinks of having a shoot where an African city/theme is needed, he/she will know that there is somewhere else apart from South Africa that they can shoot and... there is pretty good local talent so casting will be much easier/cheaper. This is a major leap for Nairobi in my opinion. Ps. I actually saw my house in the background in Sens8, interesting to know that it'll be permanently view able forever online..... Wa, quite the reception. Guys give it some time, it gets better, the gay stuff I admit is a bit over much but the underlying story is quite good, plus there's some decent acting by some local talent which I think deserves at least a little of our time. Also whether we go from Kibera one minute to Kariakor the next, is the same as any scene in any other movie, unless you're based in in NY, you'd have no idea if half the movies showing downtown New York were just conning us.
