Alexa really is about who you convince you have traffic, but the real measure would be google analytics, and ofcourse your Page Rank. As Albert said, a few individuals can alter hugely the impact on Alexa.

I'd like to know if you pay much attention to your Alexa ranking. Secondly there's the issue of the ranking being based on people who have installed the Alexa toolbar on their browsers so does this mean the point of using Alexa ranking as a metric irrelevant?
