I concur with Wash. Take one leading ISP/Mobile Telcom Co, what you have is a Fixed Data Services Department with "Accounts Managers/ Sales Reps" each assigned monthly target sales of 1 Million Shillings. (talk about job pressure!) With such expectations as well as arguably their job security (relative to sales targets met) on the line, you can bet your last dime that they'll quote potential clients especially in the corporate sector the highest possible figure they can get away with. Barely 2 days ago i recieved a quote for 1Mbps dedicated at KES. 49,500/=. I was able to negotiate the figure down to KES. 37,500. Take into account there are some 5 or so companies i am aware of that are paying an average of KES. 32,000 for 512Kbps dedicated from the same provider. A while back i had suggested a collaborative effort to share such info (pricing) measured against subsequent QoS from the respective providers. Might prove helpful especially when suggesting or implementing Connectivity Policy for an organization from an IT Admin/Manager standpoint. On 6/20/12, Odhiambo Washington <odhiambo@gmail.com> wrote:
