I suppose Edwin first needs to read a lot about self-signed certificates. After that he can perhaps consider Let's Encrypt, which also means a lot of reading. Though there are many nice howtos for Linux.

One way around it is to generate your own valid SSL certificates using free CA's like Let's Encrypt and the configuring your Zimbra to use them.
