I use a Tecno N7 and pretty satisfied with performance, specs and reliability. The internal storage is crap since I keep running out of space to install apps. Battery life and reliability is pretty decent. On Fri, Oct 18, 2013 at 7:30 PM, Dennis Kioko <dmbuvi@gmail.com> wrote:
There's virtually no upgradeable smartphone under the cost of Ksh. 35,000.
The alternative is finding a phone with a good dev community on XDA in addition to good RAM, though they say KitKat will require lesser RAM. On 18 Oct 2013 19:14, "Martin Gicheru" <martin@techweez.com> wrote:
Getting custom ROMs for the Tecno is quite tough, there is not much dev support for Mediatek processors that power all Tecnos except the Tecno N3 that was a quality reference design device.
The cost for Mediatek was down and they decided no more Qualcomm. Tecno packs their device with a free microSD because they gibe them very low internal storage. With Android 4.0 onwards, this is a challenge. Ofcourse they don't do software upgrades, so you will be stuck with what you get till you buy the next one.
They are a good starting point particularly due to value for money and that they allow many get 5 inch devices at kshs 23000.

The phone looks great on the specs sheet especially the Screen PPI and CPU. But let's not overlook one very important things that I haven't seen anyone pointing out. The device only has 1GB of internal storage, that there should be a real concern owing to the fact that on the latest versions of Android it is not easy to move apps to your SD card.
What is your experience with the storage @Justun

Also wish they had it at 4.3", that's the optimal display size.
