@wash agree totally. spam is part of life (especially if you are on the Skunkworks list ...) Even if it is a yahoo email address you can register it is probably registered as a Google account already. Just try to login to Google Groups using the account and if it does not work/ does not exist register a new Google Accont using the yahoo email address or associate the yahoo email address with an existing Google account. Maybe just time to switch email address? :) http://theoatmeal.com/comics/email_address On 10/28/2010 01:11 PM, Odhiambo Washington wrote:

Good measures, but this is still unnecessary work. Why should James have to do all this work yet he never subscribed to the group in the first place?
Such spammers must be dealt with ruthlessly to discourage this behaviour on the part of group admins to subscribe people against their will. If they realize their groups will be reported and ultimately banned this might make them more careful
While I don't intend to protect the group admin, I still think that you are simply pushing this too far as this is nothing new. We've taken this journey before, right? The forum which was the issue then was 'closed' but it reincarnated. Why don't we just accept that spam is part and parcel of e-mail and move on? If you've got a way to opt-out, it's easier than crying over it.
