Yes, iPhone 5 has nothing much to offer than OS upgrade which will naturally come to predecessors, one extra line of icons and panorama as a preinstalled function in camera. As for screen size, we have seen gradual move of the mobile phone being a productivity device as opposed to communication cum plaything. Something Samsung is trying to bring out with the Note range and bigger Galaxy phones. To add on that there is a C pen for the Galaxy S 3 and other screens that arent built for stylus. This means that you developers need to focus more on productivity apps more. This will be the focus point for future large screen smartphones and tablets. You all migh know by now that Samsung does product releases for .ke on a smartphone projected wirelessly to all screens in the room, no need for a projector. More processing power, storage and RAM means more work can be done. Samsung has already started mass producing 128GB chips for devices to come pre-installed with (see how that compares with an Ultrabook). Now if I am able to project a presentation or application on my 32" tv wirelessly at home, get a bluetooth keyboard and mouse, I can work at home or in the hotel. It's just about presenting the user with myraid of options. P.S I was just about to write a blog post about the 128GB story, but I have talked about it here instead. Interesting to note that Samsung Galaxy S4 is slated for March next year with a 5-inch display, what's your take on that? Are phones becoming bigger or they should be getting smaller? Personally was happy with the 3.5 inch display of the 4S & they reason I will do an iPhone 5 has nothing to do with the screen but just an upgrade

Samsung Galaxy S III has sold about 20 million phones in around 4 months.
The iPhone 5 will see than in the first 2 weeks.
If you have an iPhone 4S, probably there is no need to upgrade to iPhone 5, you can wait until next year for a refreshed iPhone 5S or whatever it will be called.
But the timing for iPhone 5 is perfect for most people who bought the iPhone 3GS 3 years ago. Majority of non-new buyers will be upgrading from the iPhone 3GS and some from iPhone 4.
Samsung is still not yet at a stage where they can compete with Apple. It will take sometime if that will ever happen. But I am not saying Samsung products are not good, I believe they have some of the best Android devices out there. The truth is just Samsung and Android can't just compete with Apple. Samsung has a lead of devices sold, but Apple has a lead on the profits, in fact like 70% of all smart-phone profits go to Apple. These are the metrics that matter. It is just like how GM sometimes ago had the largest revenue but zero profits. Revenue leads nowhere, profits do. And Samsung is the kind of revenue and units sold.
