Actually, they will give you a list of approved garages to choose from but that is NOT what matters. Whenever I take for such, I have to agree with the Insurance what the work encompasses - almost to the last detail. So when I take the car to _any_ of their garages, I know exactly what needs to be done - even if it means pulling out a panel and replacing it, etc.
When I go to pick the car, it must meet those specifications we agreed on with the Insurer, otherwise I don't take the car until it's done, and I'll be breathing fire on any unnecessary delays because the Insurer is NOT doing me a favor:-)
So assuming I go the insurance route, which garage does quality work at an affordable price (otherwise the insurance company will complain)?--On Thu, Nov 29, 2012 at 2:13 PM, Steve Muchai <smuchai@gmail.com> wrote:

Just the windscreen will set you back at least 16-24k. If you have
comprehensive insurance, use it and have your wing + door replaced as
well, rather than repaired.
You lose out on the no-claim discount on your renewal but your car
ends up as good as accident-free.
