This is obviously an MPESA rip off - I have not seen a single mention of where the idea originated from, or where it was tested..
In my understanding, Nokia would not acknowledge the idea came from MPESA, because the latter's origin is Africa (I stand to be corrected on this)
The Nokia platform is not just a money transfer, like M-Pesa, but an m-commerce (what Zain has through ZAP). I think that is where the distinction ought to be.
Its not a Nokia platform -- OBOPAY is the owner. However, Nokia have a stake in Obopay which has been there in the US, India and soon in Kenya. In a month or so.....
