Big telecom like AT&T and Verizon and other develop and maintain their system, I don't see why Safaricom has to outsource.
I know that buzz word nowadays it outsourcing, but something, especially things that involve money are better run in-house.
Safaricom is being reduced to a consumer of technology and vendor of scratch-cards. Remind me of another industry that had this kind of fetish, the airline industry.
They thought selling ticket was not their core industry, so they sold off that part and the booking computers to some other companies. They have regretted that decision since then. The booking companies has been profitable at their expense since and the airlines have barely broken half of that time. There was an article on economist last year on how this fucked then up and their unsuccessful attempts to reverse it.
People, we need to stop drinking MBA dogma. Short term profits at expense of sustainability
