Well, I thin there is something happening at KPLC. When my bill double 2 months ago, I did not think much of it, I assumed I am just using more electricity despite the fact than I did not add any extra appliance. You know a month ago I even bought a couple of those light saving bulbs a replaced a couple of ordinary bulbs but that did not change anything. But from what I am seeing, I am not alone and with elections very near, I just tend to worry. Blackout in Nairobi have become so common as to be a daily occurrence. I remember the good old days when KPLC management had been outsourced to the Canadian Utility firm (Manitoba Power or something) and I can swear I did not experience blackout then, and I am starting to long for those experts to just come back and sort the mess with the KPLC. I am told we are not producing more power than demand, but things are simply getting worse. And I have no alternative vendor. Maybe the electricity sector should be liberalized the way of the telecoms sectors.
