@Paul, thank you for the feedback. I think to put the issue into some views, if you know, please share the data:

- How many registrars are online and mpesa based?

- How many registrars are not online & mpesa based, and what would be reason?

- For a startup registrar in say Kitale , how would they make such a system work and offer the service to someone in Mombasa?

Your thots are welcome.

Rgds.

Dear Aki,

Currently, M-pesa payment is available to all KENIC registrars; the
process is fully automated and credits registrar's account
immediately. Some registrars even allow their clients to pay directly
to KENIC using our paybill number.

In regard to end-user to registrar automation, KENIC has provided
materials for EPP integration (ftp://regsys.kenic.or.ke) and some of
the registrars have actually automated their domain registration
processes. Registrars can also use any other EPP client of their
choice to enable their end-users to connect to the registry.
