I have 2 friends each with a dead HP Pavilion dv6000. Both computers seemed to have had their power plug pulled off as they were booting, and they went off. One of them has never come back on and the other comes on for a few seconds after several repairs, but it gave up too.
1 was purchased locally through the Hp channels while the other was purchased in Japan. Both are months old.
