That&#39;s an excellent example of a useless patent, and the reason software patents are &quot;a bad thing&quot;. The method described is a very common biometric authentication method, I wonder if it was awarded (I hope not).<div>

<br></div><div>I&#39;d like to see patents for *real* inventions, perhaps a way to improve image-recognition algorithms so they can work well under very adverse conditions (like in a rainstorm, for example). Or a way to intelligently route traffic in a place like Nairobi, where traffic behaves more like a swarm.<br>

<br></div><div>But I suppose the whole idea of patents isn&#39;t to invent any more, but rather principally to make money by gaming the loophole-infested system.</div><div><br></div><div>Back to Julius Mwela: I&#39;m very curious to hear his story, should be quite interesting.</div>

He runs an it company SBA tech which does security systems for mobile cash transfers. an IPO on nasdaq is pending and his company is worth 7B USD( by my poor calculations coz 10% is worth 700m USD) He owns 80% and sleeps 8 hrs a week. How did this guy escape forbes list?
