This is very approximate - but you'll get the idea:
A car, carrying average 2 people, with a ground area of 8 square
metres, needs 4 sq m per person
A nissan matatu, carrying 14, area 10 sq m, only uses 0.7 sq m per person
So - matatus are about 6 times more efficient at moving people than cars.
