Hi Saich,
Had kind of similar problem with my pidgin. Seems like whenever I have my GTalk account configured pidgin wont start. Try and disable this account if you have it configured and see if it helps. Also try update your pidgin version to something like 2.5.8, I think that's the latest. Hope this helps some.

I have just installed pidgin chat client on my computer which is
running on windows XP SP3 and everytime start it it crashes with an
error "pidgin encountered a problem and needs to close"...my antivirus
is Kaspersky 6
