For sure it seems slower than 8.1, but then again, it's got loads of bloatware so that should be expected.

I don't use it so much as it runs on a Desktop while I actively use a laptop which has 8.1

I'll try out the searches and see - plus the cortana.

A subsequent Windows update resolved the problem. I am now on Build 10074 which runs a lot more smoothly.

Since then, I have only known pain. Windows 10 is just too slow on my PC. I have Quad Core, with 8GB RAM.

RDP has the worst mood swings I have even seen since .... It works when I reboot. Then refuses. Then I disable/re-enable, then it works a little, then refuses - just authenicates, starts showing the screen and then closes!
