Hi Brian,
Just out of curiosity, what channels (in Kenya) do you currently get to watch with a DVB card ? And which areas are covered in and around Nairobi ?

Good morning Brian,
Am yet to try out any DVB-x card, I have dwelt entirely in the saa713x / bttv realm. That said, I see there are no complaints in your dmesg output so I assume the card driver was setup ok, and it might only be a reception/antennae problem (as is generally common with any other usb tv cards). Unless your card was wrongly detected i.e it is not an Afatech DVB-T card ?

Ndungi The card is correct, so are the drivers. The next step after having the drivers installed is to scan the channels. This is where *w_scan* comes in, or what I have been trying to use. It is meant to create a channel-list.conf that I am supposed to use with vlc, all I get is 0 services. Kaffeine comes with its own scan ap but doesn't seem to be working for me. I have tried from different locations within Nairobi, so I really don't think its signal issue, plus besides it works well on windoze. Anybody with experience in this. I would like to know where I am going wrong as I have followed so many threads from Google University. Thank you in advance.
Kind regards,
