@Lusiola - just saw that, I think this positioning thing is starting to happen big time, now if they get screwed on Android side, they have M$ to fall back to, and possible invest 50-50 think its a good move for them, and the consumer also benefits.

Opera Turbo works majorly on the concept of proxy server. As for Silk, it's the same basic idea, but done with several improvements and optimizations for mobile devices. It's like saying "The iPhone is just a phone." its several things: cache, predictive cache, content optimization (image compression, etc.). A good amount of the content is pre-processed in
the
cloud rather than the browser. The only downside I see is that the optimisation is made for a specific platform: kindle fire. They even mentioned 'last mile' connection but since the Kindle Fire has no 3G. That's a major #FAIL IMHO.

What's revolutionary is the cloud-based browser: Silk. The cool thing about silk is "Each time you load a web page, Silk makes a dynamic decision about which of these subsystems will run locally

Is the browser really that revolutionary?? Isn't this how Opera Mini generally works? Also, Opera Turbo on the PC version of Opera. Good move by Amazon all the same.
