Hi, Sorry if u were expecting a well researched long read; Anyway I was just thinking how our future would change if CCK... now celebrating another successful anniversary... were to..
- Ban all phones without internet access, - Make computers and computing a compulsury course / subject, - And others u may add...
Would this not be the beginning of a very bright future.
"Citizen revolution" is not a very bright future at all, for that is what will happen. CCK has no teeth to do this, just the same way KEBS has no real teeth to stop counterfeit good from you-know-where coming into our market. And your story reminds me of something that used to be called "Type Approval". Is that rule/law still there? One could never use any telecommunication equipment in Kenya before it was "type approved", and me thinks that CCK is the dept of Telkom Kenya (what was the organization called before the split?) that used to do those "type approvals". What you are asking is tantamount to "type approval" but the question is, if the law was there, would it be enforceable without infringing on the rights of wananchi? -- Best regards, Odhiambo WASHINGTON, Nairobi,KE +254733744121/+254722743223 _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ "If you have nothing good to say about someone, just shut up!." -- Lucky Dube
