If you really need Windows, Parallels works very well.

Also good are cloud services for browser testing, using Windows VMs, etc...

But really, this is only a problem for consultants.  Google banned Windows a long time ago internally and they're doing just fine.

It's ironic that a security system like CCTV would require a deeply insecure technology like ActiveX.
